Comments: This is the third time we have taken the up and over Mt Arayat route and it will probably be the last. The trail disappears beneath the South Peak and getting to the Pinacle Peak trail that comes from San Juan Bano is a major pain in the backside. As Mt Arayat is a national park you would think that keeping the trails open, safe and well maintained would be a boost for domestic tourists as Filipinos like hiking during their many annual holidays. The Aeta’s living on Mt Arayat’s western slope could bolster their meager income by looking after the trails.
