Comments: This is a tough old hike despite following the shoreline and passing through umpteen small barrios. The nine ridges though not of any great height made it a reasonably hard grind. Armpit who had driven us to the start turned back after a couple of hours so he could meet us at Biaan this being as straight an A to B hike as was possible. FOM due to the rapid deterioration of his shoes had to hire a banca at Quinawan to take him to Mariveles. Because of the late start, (if there is a next time we should start at least two hours earlier), and a few long on backs the remaining trio actually ran some of the last three kilometres because it wasn’t going to be a good idea finishing in darkness. As it was we descended into Biaan in the dark to be greeted by Armpit and a van of cold San Miguel.
