Comments: It’s a long time since we have been to Hacienda Dolores and the aim was to do an A to A loop via Villa Maria. It was an easy forty minute walk up the Porac River to our first catch up stop before heading into the hills. It got a bit muddled over the next half hour or so as all the trails we tried led into small orchards with no other ways out. We eventually got ourselves onto the ridge over looking Sapang Uwak and the Aeta Jubilee Road heading off to Mt Pinatubo. This was the ridge to Villa Maria but unfortunately we found that the trail which we had been on a couple of years ago was overgrown. Never mind. a change of plans as we headed down the steep, not for the faint hearted, trail to Sapang Uwak. As we did not want to go back down the Porac River again it was now basically two long straight lines paralleling sugar cane fields to Hacienda Dolores.
