Comments: A very warm day heralding the beginning of the hot season. Stopped at a local house at Kawayan, thirty five minutes into the trail for a bit of a breather, where the cheerful Aeta family shared a jackfruit with us. Leaving the family behind us we started clambering up a very steep path and were nearly at the top when it started curving away on a direction that we had no intention of following. So back down again, (we are always going back down again), to eventually find our planned route to barrio Sapang Uwak and a second welcome rest stop and a sweet cold coke. We could have followed the Porac River all the way to Hacienda Dolores but felt we were under achieving it was up the big hill behind the barrio and into the bush at the top. Well now a days you cannot go anywhere without tripping over the expressway they are building between SBMA and CSEZ so it was no surprise when we crossed it again. I think that all Mt Arayat hashers should be invited to the opening ceremony, (whenever), because we have been on it more than anyone else.
