Comments:
Arrived at the Anchorage for today’s hike to find
Two Bottles sleeping on the foyer sofa in out of the game mode. Waking
up he surprised everyone by rushing out for a loaf of bread, bought
himself the customary three litres of
water so he was ready for the off and managed to complete a fairly
arduous course shod in a
pair of clapped out Chinese running shoes (thin plastic sandals for the
uninitiated). John Greenstreet also had a bit of shoe trouble when both
soles were detached from the uppers and Meatless came to his rescue with
an extra pair of laces which were wrapped tightly around soles and
uppers. Three major on backs on today’s hike the first about fifteen
minutes into the walk when we became surrounded by barbed wire fencing
going off at all directions and angles so with three or four piss off
signs glaring at us we decided it was dignified retreat time. Number two
was the usual great track to charcoal pit only and the third was a known
on back but this time we could get up to the plateau behind Malamoglamog
have a walk around with some great viewing and complete the circle by
clambering down a man made walkway with bamboo hand holds and back to
Malamoglamog.
