Comments: We walked along a farm track parallel to the Porac river until we came to a high point looking down into the beautiful valley behind Hacienda Dolores. Then a two kilometre trek through sugar cane fields. We found ourselves at the bottom of a hill and it took a while to find a way over and down to the Porac river again. Doggy turned back to Porac at this point due a bad back strain. We crossed the river and headed towards the Pasig / Potrero river. This was more sugar cane until we reached a resting place directly across the river from Padawad, lahar watch BM3. Black Widow because of heat exhaustion hitched a lift back to Porac from two friendly locals, gentleman Bob Renko acting as escort. Because of high cliffs we could not get into the river and had to travel another couple of kms before finding a path down. Crossing the wide Pasig / Potrero we meandered along a nice single file track to the Sapang Bayo Creek which we followed downstream for twenty minutes. A sharp left turn to head north towards Sapang Bato over four or five gentle hillocks. At the last couple of hills it was “how much longer”, “only five more minutes”. Oh well what the hell.
