On On Home: Cap’t Greggs, Sabang Beach
Comments: Starting at Sabang we walked the jeepney route to Puerto Galera, a dirt track strewn with potholes and the occasional twenty metre length of concrete. At the back of Puerto it was a tough steep climb to get onto the track leading to the water tower at Barrio Baclayan. We followed the Mt Baclayan ridgeline, at a much lower level, for about two kilometres before turning back down towards the coastline. Following a dry creek bed all the way down to the White Beach-Puerto Galera road where we eventually emerged at Barrio Balatero. It was then a route march along the main road to Puerto Galera Pier for some cold drinks and a return to Cap’t Greggs at Sabang. Thanks to “Smokey Mountain” for the time and effort.
