Comments: As with the last hike, most of this was virgin territory. Our aim was to travel westwards from Malasa and then do a big sweep back towards CSEZ. This we succeeded in doing. The trail from Patling meets our new found route which means we can leave the O’Donnell River area and eventually get to Clark. This we will do in the near future and it will be about 25 kms. The only drawback today was the tall grass, and there was a lot of it, which made us feel like we were walking through a sauna. On the plus side was the very friendly Aeta barrio of Mataba where we had a rest stop. Looking forward to doing the big one.
