Comments: What started out looking like a disaster turned out to be a triumph. When SM’s pre-arranged driver failed to turn up, we decided to switch from the Porac area to our spiritual home on Mt Arayat-to explore a new trail which we failed to complete some months before. All started well on a distinct trail, but somehow, close to the top we lost it and had to go x-country for an hour or so with CG and TIB leading the charge. Fortunately more timid hashers such as IM were overruled for soon we came to a delightful network of tracks on a new area of the crater rim. From here it was a simple matter to find yet another new trail down the mountain. Clearly, Arayat has more potential for the future than we thought. I.M.
